Prior to performance, I scribbled the canvas spontaneously with the works title in blue chalk.

 

For the performance, the swathe is laid out as it was drawn on and I knit it until it ends, translating spontaneous expression into the durational, considered act of knitting, combining opposing therapeutic practices to reveal my desire to be absorbed in an action and meditate in the moment.
